We are about to finish the first installment of an in house project that was started over a year ago. Thanks to the 3D
virtuosity of motion graphics
artist Mike
Senften aka "The Monkey" (This link leads to his most recent work...it was posted to motionographer.com and got so many hits the day of posting
the site temporarily shut down), we have an extremely stimulating trailer for our business here. The video should be up before the new year, and
we were excited to hear that Mike will be using the piece as an example at a lecture he will be giving at the
next Adobe After Effects NY meeting this week.

Casa Nova is called upon by photographer/videographer Zach Gold to
handle all audio recording for his latest campaign with K-Swiss sneakers. Zach is an extremely accomplished visual artist, and it
was nothing less than an honor to work with him. In fact, it was downright flattering (check out one of many pages displaying his
work here). We hope to
continue our relationship with Mr. Gold for years to
come, as he is a true pioneer in his field, and most importantly, a great guy in general.

Lily
+ The Moving Men come in to track a 3-song EP. Lily, a fantastic
jazz vocalist, and her band, bassist Doug Berns, guitarist Angelo
Spagnolo, and drummer Terry Moore, complete all tracking, including
overdubs, in 8 HOURS!!! We have high hopes for Lily's music, and
we think she'll be turning heads soon. I also have to mention the
engineering work by our head engineer Tommy Mokas. You will know
why when the final product is available for listening. Way to go
Tommy!

CNS performs as the backup rhythm section for another regular in
our circle of friends, Gif,
at the Brooklyn Academy
of Music's BAMCafe. The turnout was a full house, and the reaction
to the show was great. We were very happy to have met some great
new musicians and contacts with this project, and we're looking
forward to seeing how Gif's career develops further. It seems he's
gaining support not only in fans, but also with the back end of
this crazy business, the people that make it all happen. Yes, definitely
a great night. His face was on the BAM billboard on Flatbush Avenue!

CNS has the pleasure of tracking Caleb
Burhans, and Clarice
Jensen for Anna Marie Ayers' debut release. The album features
Anna as vocalist and pianist, and string quartet sections (arranged
by in house arranger/producer, and webmaster ;-) Nick Rosenthal)
back her up for the whole work. Caleb is becoming a regular face
around our studio, but it was our first time working with Clarice,
and she knocked our socks off.

In house drummer/producer Scott Hopkins is flown down to the Dominican Republic to play live
with DJ Skribble for
his 2008 Halloween appearance. We hope to work with Skribble, one of the world's premier DJs, a whole lot more in the future!

DUMBO Arts Fest has become a CNS tradition as well, and this year
was the best yet for us so far. Each year, our team has put together
a night filled with music, art, and fun to join in with the neighborhood's
festivities. Our lineup this year was far and away the most impressive,
and the turnout was also beyond our expectations. All the artists
that performed were recorded and filmed, and we're toying with options
as to how we should release the material. The performances were
decadent, and all involved deserve a big thank you: Rich

Casa Nova Studios is called upon by friends Earl Greyhound to record
their two night run at The Calhoun School. The two performances (1st night electric, 2nd night acoustic) is going to be released as
an album to support their upcoming national tour.

We just completed our first day of tracking with up-and-coming artist
Fiama.
We're so happy she chose to record with us....we met on myspace
over a year ago, and finally, fruition. Fiama is an incredible talent
and what originally was just a one-day tracking session seems to
be leaning towards a full on production, start to finish, with our
team here at Casa Nova Studios. We were especially excited about
this session, because it was the first time we had the opportunity
to use our new 24 track hard disk recorder. With this comes the
excitement of seeing our main console being utilized to the fullest
(just months old). Imagine that, 2008, and a whole day of tracking
without the need for a computer monitor! Fiama brought with her
a band made up of strictly professional players featuring Rene
Ferrer (guitar), Chris
Viteri (percussion), Chikara
Kitagawa (drums), and Ricardo
Rodriguez (bass, and just appeared on the CBS Early Show performing
with Chubby Checker!)

album has just been released in Europe.

Caleb Burhans's
graced us with his presence and his fantastic violin/viola playing
today. Caleb has appeared on numerous albums including The Hold
Steady's "Boys And Girls In America," Steve Reich's "Steve Riech:
Tehillim / The Desert Music," and Remy Ma's "There's Something About
Remy." He covered all the parts for Jenda Wight's upcoming debut
release for us, scheduled for later this year.

Currently working with Grammy nominated composer Bobb
Goldsteinn (Co-writer of the hit "Washington Square" performed
by the Village
Stompers) on a track soon to be announced. Bobb has been a pleasure
to work with and has brought some first class talent into the studio
including producer/drummer Keith Crupi, and legendary bassist Wilbur
"Bad" Bascomb.

Kendra Ross
has begun tracking for her debut album, being produced by Christian
Ver Halen. The list of heavy hitters we're having the pleasure
to record is quite a feather in our cap. Kendra's band features
Mr. Ver Halen on guitar, Lonnie
Plaxico (Cassandra Wilson) on bass, Chris
Rob (John Legend) on keys, and Skoota
Warner (Santana) on drums.

Casa Nova Studios, Nautica, and Laird
+ Partners has launched a nationally televised ad campaign.
The current ad, Navigate Life, features actor Ed Burns at Nautica
sponsored events, including AVP volleyball events, the Nautica Malibu
Triathlon, and the New York City Marathon. A significant amount
of televised broadcasts are syndicated through Fox Sports Network
and NBC.

Post production has been initiated for “30” the movie,
with indie film director Curtis Pollock. Casa Nova is recording
the original score written and performed by the band, Second Movement.
"30" is a story about searching for the end of the road
but finding the beginning. Hal is a bitter, jaded bartender whose
life at the age of thirty isn't anything like he'd hoped it would
be. After he spends his 30th birthday being dumped by his girlfriend
and slinging drinks for thankless customers, he decides to try
his luck in Atlantic City. Hal's gamble pays off, so he continues
to let fate be his guide as he spots Route 30 on his way out of
town and follows it on a whim. Little does he know that Route
30 will take him clear across the continent, and as he meets new
people, sees new places, and experiences new things, he begins
visualizing his purpose and enjoying what life has to offer.

Casa Nova is in the pre-production phase of mixing the lead single
for “The Brand” entitled "Photographs" for
their upcoming independent release. They have recently moved to
NYC from Miami to bring their style of pop rock to the northern
masses. Casa Nova will have updates on the release date as soon
as it comes available.
